What conditions and/or diseases do you help?
The NeuroBalance Center specializes in assisting individuals with chronic, progressive disorders that impact mobility and movement. The conditions they focus on include:
- Multiple Sclerosis (MS): A disease where the immune system attacks the protective covering of nerves, causing communication problems between the brain and the rest of the body. The center provides therapies to manage symptoms like fatigue, balance issues, and muscle weakness.
- Parkinson’s Disease: A neurodegenerative disorder that affects predominately dopamine-producing neurons in the brain, leading to tremors, stiffness, and difficulty with balance and coordination. The center offers programs to help manage these symptoms and improve quality of life.
- Stroke: Rehabilitation focuses on helping stroke survivors regain lost functions, improve mobility, and increase independence. This includes exercises to strengthen affected limbs, improve balance, and retrain the brain.
- Neuromuscular Diseases: Including conditions like Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and Muscular Dystrophy, which impair muscle function. The center provides therapies to maintain mobility and manage symptoms.
- Autoimmune Diseases: Such as lupus and rheumatoid arthritis, which cause joint and muscle pain, fatigue, and other systemic symptoms. The center’s holistic approach helps manage these conditions through functional medicine and supportive therapies.
- Traumatic Brain Injury: Symptoms caused by accidents that involve being struck by or against an object, particularly sports-related injuries, pedestrian-involved accidents, as well as accidents involving motor vehicles.
What services, programs and therapies are offered?
The NeuroBalance Center offers a comprehensive range of services, programs, and therapies, each tailored to improve the quality of life for individuals with mobility impairments. (Please note that some offerings are provided by our business partners and not NeuroBalance Center.)
Functional Medicine
Functional medicine at the center involves identifying and addressing the root causes of diseases rather than just treating symptoms. This personalized healthcare approach includes:
- Comprehensive Health Assessments: Detailed evaluations to understand the participant’s health history, lifestyle, and unique needs.
- Diet and Nutrition Plans: Customized nutritional advice to support overall health, including anti-inflammatory diets and specific nutritional supplements.
- Lifestyle Adjustments: Recommendations to improve sleep quality, stress management techniques, and exercise routines tailored to the individual’s condition.
- Supplementation: Tailored supplement regimens based on individual health needs, often including vitamins, minerals, and herbal remedies to support overall well-being.
Functional Neurology
This service focuses on non-invasive techniques to improve brain function and communication pathways between the brain and body. Techniques may include:
- Neuroplasticity Exercises: Activities designed to promote brain health and enhance neural connections, often through targeted physical and cognitive exercises.
- Sensory Stimulation: Using various sensory inputs (like light, sound, and touch) to stimulate neural pathways and improve function.
- Vestibular Rehabilitation: Exercises and therapies to improve balance and reduce dizziness.
- Gait Training: Techniques to enhance walking patterns and improve mobility.
Personal Training
Individualized training programs to enhance physical abilities such as strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, gait, and range of motion. Trainers at the center are specially trained to work with individuals with neurological and autoimmune conditions, ensuring that exercises are safe and effective.
Adaptive Group Fitness Classes
Classes specifically designed for individuals with neuromuscular or autoimmune conditions. These sessions promote physical health, social interaction, and community support. Examples include:
- Adaptive Yoga
- Balance & Gait Classes
- Cardio and Strength Classes
Wellness Services
These programs aim to retrain the body and brain to perform daily activities more efficiently and with less discomfort. Services include:
- Occupational Therapy
- Speech Therapy
- Cognitive Training
- Physical Therapy
Massage Therapy
Clinical therapeutic massage is available to aid in recovery, relaxation, and overall well-being. Techniques are adapted to meet the specific needs of each individual, targeting areas of tension, pain, or discomfort. This can include deep tissue massage, myofascial release, and other specialized techniques to promote healing and relieve stress.
Reiki Therapy
Therapeutic reiki sessions consist of gentle, light-touch, and non-invasive healing technique. It induces a significant relaxation response, and provides a deep sense of calmness, relaxation, and peacefulness. Because this holistic practice can dramatically reduce stress and anxiety, Reiki can be an effective complementary therapy for many health and mobility challenges.
Health & Wellness Training
One-on-one health & wellness training sessions focus on improving and maintaining functional
mobility and strength. Evidence-based sessions are offered by licensed clinical providers. Sessions are created based on the participant’s specific goals, diagnosis, and current level of function.
