August Lunch & Learn
The Therapeutic Toolbox for Brain Injuries
NeuroBalance Center is pleased to welcome Deborah Giesler, MS, CCC/SLP, Executive Director of Synapse House, for our August Lunch & Learn!
Deborah has been a Speech Pathologist working with individuals affected by traumatic brain injury and other acquired brain injuries, such as stroke and brain tumors, for 33 years. In addition to her role as a Speech Pathologist, she has founded two non-profit organizations to support people with brain injuries. She will discuss brain injury recovery, the "Therapeutic Toolbox"—how "work" can be healing—and the importance of exercise and therapy in promoting cognitive improvement after an acquired brain injury.
This event continues our NeuroBalance Center 2025 Lunch & Learn series. Clients, their families, and caregivers are invited to bring their lunch and enjoy discussions on various topics relevant to NBC Clients and their families. Tickets are $15 per person and include light refreshments. Stay tuned for more events scheduled!
Walk With Me is back for the Summer! Did you know that people who walk with an animal are more likely to meet physical activity recommendations? That is why Pet Partners, the nation’s premier national therapy organization, created Walk With MeTM, a special initiative about walking for better health. On Saturday, August 16, NeuroBalance Center Clients are encouraged to join the SOUL Harbour Ranch Animal Therapy Program team as we walk together to promote physical well-being! Animals participating are trained to walk beside wheelchairs, walkers, rollators, or provide assistance to those who need a little support while they walk. Sign up today to reserve your spot!
Now offered virtually, our Caregiver Support Group will provide a safe space for sharing your thoughts, concerns, and personal journey as a caregiver for those who have chronic health conditions, and to benefit from the wisdom and empathy of others. The primary goal of this group is to foster a sense of belonging, validation, and empowerment among our NeuroBalance Center caregivers. This group meets the second Tuesday of each month; call the center to sign up today!
We are continuing to feature resources that support independence and provide innovative adaptive environments and tips to maintain a quality of life through our Resource Center. Our goal is to provide a variety of resources that we will update monthly.
We would love to hear from you about what information you would like us to feature! Click on the logo below to learn more.
