NeuroBalance Center Welcomes Raymond Lapinas as Executive Director

The NeuroBalance Center, a pioneering facility dedicated to supporting individuals with chronic progressive disorders, autoimmune diseases, and neuromuscular conditions, is thrilled to announce the appointment of Raymond Lapinas as its new Executive Director, effective March 15, 2024.

Bringing a wealth of experience from over 30 years in finance with major Chicagoland corporations, Raymond joins the NeuroBalance Center’s leadership team with a unique blend of expertise in risk management, operational financial controls, and budgeting. His deep commitment to advocacy for those with neurological conditions is personal. Diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in the fall of 2017, Raymond first connected with the Center as a participant in its inaugural boxing classes designed specifically for Parkinson’s patients. This firsthand experience with the Center’s supportive community and exceptional care fueled his dedication to its mission.

“The atmosphere of camaraderie, the quality and attention of the staff, coupled with the outstanding availability of unique equipment provides participants the best opportunity towards maintaining a healthy lifestyle while facing the challenges presented by their medical diagnosis,” stated Lapinas. 

Before stepping into his new role, Raymond served on the NeuroBalance Center’s Board of Directors as the Board Secretary since 2018, and more recently, as the Director of Finance & Administration since September 2023. His tenure on the board and executive team underscores a sustained commitment to advancing the Center’s impactful work.

Under his leadership, Raymond has already begun steering the organization towards revitalization and growth, emphasizing robust communication, a vibrant workplace culture, philanthropy, and strategic planning. His vision for a collaborative partnership with the Board of Directors aims to position the NeuroBalance Center for a future of continued success.

In addition to his responsibilities at the NeuroBalance Center, Raymond is an influential figure in broader community and advocacy efforts. He currently serves as Vice President of the McHenry County Mental Health Board in Illinois and has been actively involved in various capacities including Board Treasurer and Chair of the Ethics & Compliance Committee. Furthermore, Raymond is a key member of the Lithuanian Americans and Allies for Democracy (LAAD), where he contributes as Treasurer, leveraging political and civic action to champion democracy, equality, and social and economic justice.
