On September 23, 2021, NeuroBalance Center hosted “Lived and Learned: An Intimate Conversation with Lesley Stahl”
Presented virtually, the hour-long conversation featured Stahl and NeuroBalance Center founder Joy Wagner, RN BSN, who shared strategies for adapting to and managing, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, and other neuromuscular conditions. Stahl and Wagner also discussed their perspectives as one caring for someone and one living with these conditions.
Mobility disorder conditions include Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, Traumatic Brain Injury, and nearly 100 other autoimmune-related diseases that attack mobility, independence, and quality of life. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 39 million U.S. adults, age 18 years or older, have difficulties in physical functioning and more than 7 million have difficulty walking or climbing steps.
“Part of our mission is to educate those living with mobility disorders, and their loved ones,” Wagner said. “I have been hoping Lesley would come to see what we are doing since I saw a story on CBS’s Sunday Morning where she interviewed her husband, author Aaron Latham, and they discussed Parkinson’s Disease and the impact a boxing program had on Aaron and his symptoms.”
